SHRINATH MALUR

Partner and Director

Mr. Malur is a Partner and Director at Mattingly & Malur.  Mr. Malur’s practice focuses primarily on patent and trademark prosecution, client counseling, opinion writing. Mr. Malur has also provided litigation support for patents that he has obtained for his clients when those clients decide to enforce them.

Mr. Malur has assisted numerous clients in obtaining meaningful patents to cover competitors’ products for use in important licensing projects. He has conducted hundreds of interviews with patent examiners at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to negotiate suitable patent coverage for his clients.

His expertise is in a variety of technologies, including storage systems, medical devices, semiconductors, graphic user interfaces, construction machinery, proton beam therapy and social networking. 

He was member of the Patent Law Track during law school at George Mason University, where he was the Founding President of the George Mason University Intellectual Property Law Society and an original member of the Giles S. Rich American Inn of Court. He also served as an intern for the Honorable Loren A. Smith, Chief Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims, which handles patent claims against the U.S. Government.   He is listed in the 2017 edition of “Lawyers of Distinction.”
