Mr Hanscom has over 41 years of experience in the fields of patent and trademark law. His practice includes the preparation and prosecution of utility and design patent applications as well as the preparation and prosecution of trademark and service mark applications. Mr Hanscom’s technical expertise extends to diverse technologies in the mechanical fields with a particular emphasis on complex machinery including printing presses and industrial separating equipment.
Prior to becoming of counsel to Mattingly & Malur, PC, Mr Hanscom was affiliated with the firm of Jones, Tullar & Cooper, PC, initially as an associate from 1972 to 1980 and then as a partner and subsequently as a shareholder from 1980 until the dissolution of the firm in 2011. During his 39 years with Jones, Tullar & Cooper, Mr. Hanscom prepared and prosecuted hundreds of utility and design patent applications directed to a wide range of inventions. He continues his active practice with Mattingly & Malur, PC.
